  This medical practice is outrageous. We selected them as our primary care office for our whole family. We have had more of our visits rescheduled than not because Dr. Ives decided to go on vacation at the last minute. My husband had to call the office to remind them to send his referral to a specialist after his visit. They have a patient portal with access codes which have to be mailed to the home. After repeated requests, we have still only received three out of four codes in the mail. All of that was annoying. However, my last visit there is why me and my family will never be returning to this practice. I went in with complaints of chronic hip pain and recurring ankle sprain. The receptionist gave me a front and back questionnaire of the items I wanted to discuss with Dr. Ives in during the visit, and I filled it out completely with information regarding my hips and ankle. The nurse who took my vitals was rushed and seemed annoyed when I asked her to tell me my blood pressure reading. When Dr. Ives came in the room, she was distracted, inattentive, and rude! I was trying to explain to her my symptoms/injuries, and she told me to hurry up and just answer her questions because she only gets 15 minutes with each patient and she is already running late. She made it seem like it was my fault for her being behind schedule. I was telling her this has been a problem for many years, and somehow, she became fixated on the amount of sleep I get, and how getting more sleep will help my hip pain. I told her my hips hurt the most when I lay down, and yet, sleep was the solution in her mind. She told me my ankle, which has been sprained repeatedly over the past three months, was fine. She didn't listen to me at all! I was frustrated at her lack of understanding of my complaint and Dr. Ives became visibility agitated when I asked for an order for physical therapy to help my hips and ankle. It's not like I was asking for narcotics! She snidely said "Fine!" and left the room in a huff. I was shocked at her behavior, and I slowly gathered my things and stood outside the exam room. After a few minutes, Dr. Ives returns with the order for PT with another woman by her side. I told Dr. Ives I was sorry if I caused her any delay with her other patients and she simply walked away without acknowledging my comment. The other woman said "Why don't you come with me to talk for a moment?" and so I followed her into a back room. She introduced herself as a mental health counselor, and said that I appeared frustrated. Absolutely I feel frustrated! I came in with a health complaint and was ignored and dismissed by my treating physician. The mental health counselor suggested we set up a paid session so I could make a list to show the doctor about the things I want to discuss with her. I showed the counselor the list I had made prior to coming to the office, and told her I don't think counseling is necessary. My primary goal is to correct my discomfort, not meet with a counselor who will act as a middle man between me and my doctor. It was all so ridiculous! It felt like a used car salesman was taking me into the back room to pressure me into buying a car that didn't fit my needs. TLDR; Rushed visit, inattentive doctor, ambush therapy session 1/10 - Do not recommend

  Before we moved to NM, I was a patient of Dr. Ives for over 10 years. I read a critical review and thought I would respond with my perspective. Her staff was awesome and responsive and Dr. Ives was very thorough. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment and I had Dr. Ives undivided attention when I was there. That said, I went in with notes and kept my questions & answers to her brief and to the point....just the facts. I didn't want to take up her time or mine. If we ever move back to Colorado, I would definitely want Dr. Ives as my internist again.

  Family Physician for over 10 years. Absolutely wonderful, highly recommended. Always pleasant and shows genuine concern for anything that comes up.
